Sassafras

Sassafras albidum is a deciduous tree native to Eastern North America. It is known for its aromatic properties, with roots and bark used for making teas and flavorings. The plant has distinctively lobed leaves, often exhibiting three shapes on the same tree: unlobed, mitten-shaped, and three-lobed. In the fall, the foliage turns vibrant hues of yellow, orange, and red.
