Description
Eastern Hop Hornbeam is a deciduous tree native to eastern North America. It is known for its extremely hard wood, which has been used historically for applications requiring strength and durability, such as tool handles and fence posts. The tree has a slender trunk and a pyramidal to oval crown with attractive peeling bark that resembles that of a hop vine. Its leaves are birch-like, turning a beautiful yellow in the fall.
