Crested Iris

Iris cristata, commonly known as the Crested Iris, is a low-growing, broadleaf, rhizomatous, perennial iris that typically grows to 3-6 inches tall and 12-18 inches wide. It is native to the eastern United States, thriving in rocky wooded slopes and along streams in rich, wooded soils. It is noted for providing attractive early spring bloom and beautiful foliage.
