Scouring Rush

Equisetum hyemale, commonly known as Scouring Rush, is a non-flowering evergreen perennial with jointed stems that are hollow, bamboo-like, and grow in dense clusters. It belongs to the horsetail family, Equisetaceae, and is often found in wet or moist environments such as stream banks and marshes. Known for its abrasive stem surface, it was historically used for scouring pots and pans.
